Golf Handicap Certificates: Be sure to bring a handicap certificate from your home club/pro as some courses require them. Golf Attire: Dress codes must be abided by and are sometimes very conservative. As a minimum, wear collared shirts with slacks or tailored shorts. Men must wear knee-length socks with shorts. Denim jeans, leisure suits, and track suits (warm ups) are not permitted under any circumstances. Sandals, jogging shoes, and tennis shoes are not permitted. Restaurants: Casual dress is normally appropriate, although for Welcome and Farewell dinners, it is common for men to wear jackets (ties not necessary) and for ladies to wear a dress or dress slacks and top. Golf Carts: Although electric carts are generally available, it is best to prearrange them as they are limited in number at some courses. There are no caddies in Australia or New Zealand. Most golfers use pull carts (called trundlers or buggies) or you may walk and carry a "Sunday bag". Passport and Visa Requirements: U.S. citizens are required to present a valid passport to enter both Australia and New Zealand. The passport must have a valid date for at least three months past the date of departure. No visa is required for New Zealand. We can assist with your required visa for Australia. Tipping: Tipping is not expected or encouraged, but will be accepted for exceptional service. Voltage: 230 volts. Hotels have 110 volt razor outlets. Other appliances require a converter and adapter plug. Most of the larger hotels will have a hair dryer in each room. Taxes: Throughout New Zealand, a 12.5 percent Goods and Services Tax is charged on most purchases. Departure taxes from New Zealand and Australia must be paid individually when departing each country. Baggage Restrictions: The airline baggage allowance is two bags per person, including a golf bag. We recommend that you use a special padded golf club carry case to protect your clubs. Baggage is at "owner's risk" throughout the surface portion of the trip; insurance is recommended. Contact your airlines for specific restrictions and requirements. Climate: Seasons are the reverse of the United States. There is no predominant wet or dry season.
